Who can be an online doctor in Singapore?

To be an online doctor in Singapore, the doctor has to be a fully SMC registered doctor. Beyond that, the doctor has to pass an online course provided by MOH in to be eligible to be an online doctor in Singapore.

At reallysick.sg, our doctors are carefully selected based on their experience in providing acute care and the qualities of being friendly and empathetic.

How to consult a doctor online in Singapore?

To consult a doctor online using our website, simply click here to register for an account. Similar to how you would do it in a physical clinic, you would need to prepare your NRIC (or Singpass).

To make the online consultation smoother, try to recall the nature and duration of your discomfort. As connection can be unstable at times, it is important to be concise in explaining your symptoms and focus on providing more information relating to your medical condition.

Is Online doctor in Singapore legitimate?

An online doctor behind the screen is a real doctor and is as legitimate as a physical doctor. The difference between seeing an online doctor and a physical one is the lack of physical examination, which can limit the diagnosis of certain illnesses.

What do I need to prepare before I see a doctor online?

Do ensure you have a device with a working camera and microphone. This allows the online doctor to accurately assess your condition and therefore give a more accurate diagnosis and advice.

Do ensure you have a stable internet as this can affect the video quality or cause the consult to be ended prematurely.

Prior to raising an online consultation, do find a quiet spot with privacy to protect your own confidentiality. It would help to have proper lighting to allow the online doctor to view your condition better.

Do ensure you have your physical identity card/pass with you for the online doctor to verify your identity.

Do take note of your current location and key it in prior to the consultation. This allows the online doctor to activate emergency services should there be a need to.

How to check if the online doctor is a real doctor in Singapore?

Every licensed doctor is listed in the Singapore Medical Council website. As long as you have the online doctor medical council registration (MCR) number and name, it is easy to check if the online doctor holds a valid practicing license.

On reallysick.sg, the full name and MCR number is displayed during the consultation. You can also find the details of your consultation doctor after consultation in the post-consultation documents. Should you suspect that the doctor that you are seeing is a mismatch to the displayed credentials, you should take a screenshot and contact us immediately.

What conditions are suitable to see a doctor online?

Most minor conditions like common cold, headache, food poisoning and menstrual cramps can be managed via telemedicine, where medicines can be delivered directly to you. However, physical examination by the doctor is not possible online hence more severe symptoms and chronic conditions may not be managed over telemedicine.

There are also other limitations to the medications that can be provided by telemedicine. For example, drugs that have addictive potential are prohibited.

Can I see an online doctor working in Singapore when I am overseas?

Yes you can. However, the medical opinion provided will only be relevant in the local context. The online MC provided will only be valid in Singapore. Currently, we do not provide medication prescriptions overseas. Electronic prescriptions are not accepted in Singapore and many other countries as well. You can make a request for the medicine to be delivered to an address in Singapore. They can be consumed when you have returned from your trip.
